Fresh off the launch of a joint venture with Swiss Life Asset Managers, part of the Swiss Life Group, and with new funding in hand to expand operations into the UK and Scandinavia, Daniele Benatoff chatted to Just Food’s Simon Harvey in June.

Founded in 2018, Holie’s better-for-you cereals range is sold in The Netherlands and Belgium and entered the UK in January.

The first area of focus of venture arm Future Foods Lab is what Nomad Foods calls “functional nutrition”.

“We have a pipeline of acquisitions that we’re discussing right now,” David Krause told Just Food in June.

In January, CEO Utham Gowda said a number of acquisitions were in the works for 2025 as the India-based company strives to hit $1bn in revenue.

Reflecting on the general decline in the plant-based meat category, David Suarez said the “products were not good enough”.

“The goal is not to replace meat but to diversify choices and provide a unique value proposition,” Didier Toubia said in September.

After spotting “a real gap in the market for a branded sourdough bread”, Jason Geary has built a business supplying UK multiples – and is eyeing further growth.
